Nazeeri to propose pedagogy and learner experience drive technology decisions

Furqan Nazeeri, Partner, Extension Engine, a leading provider of Custom Learning Experiences, will participate on apanel at the upcoming Learning with MOOCs Conference, to be held October 8-10 at the University of Texas atAustin.

The session, ‘What should drive design of MOOCs? What is driving current trends?’ will take place Tuesday, October 10 at 9:30a.m. Nazeeri will discuss how online learning has evolved to be more adaptive, customized, andengaging. He will highlight a number of trends including personalization, project-based learning, simulations, artificial intelligence, and gamification, among others, and discuss their roles in today’s learning environments.

“We need to flip this discussion on its head – the focus should not be on platforms, new technologies and business models,” said Furqan Nazeeri. “The discussion needs to be centered on the learner experience and what we need to do to ensure pedagogy and engaging, customized experiences are driving design and technology decisions, rather than the other way around.”
